STARMAN #2 - THE RUNAWAY ASTEROID
The RUNAWAY ASTEROID is professionally printed, since the printer for Assault on Mars, Fred Woodworth, was able to donate his materials only for the first volume.
The story is 20% longer than the first book, which makes it roughly 50% longer than an average Hardy Boy or Rick Brant series book. The extra length has enabled us to explore our story in more detail and the result is a story that, according to the readers who read the manuscript, is even better than Assault on Mars!
Like Starman #1, this book has deep blue endpapers depicting a faraway galaxy, but the endpapers in this book are slightly different: because the endpapers we used for the first book were unavailable, we are using a new, higher quality image of deep space: we hope to keep this scene for the remainder of the series. We've also decided to make the boards of this book a deep blue, similar to the color of the endpapers; the lettering on the cover and spine will be in attractive gold foil. Like the first book, THE RUNAWAY ASTEROID will also have a full-color wrap dust jacket, and will have a frontispiece.
Fans of the Dig Allen series will be interested to know that Paul Greene wrote the introduction for Starman #2! For those of you who don't know who Paul Greene is, Paul is the son of Joseph Greene, the now-deceased author of the six-volume Dig Allen series that eventually lead to the Starmen. Paul has written an introduction unlike any we have seen before; I think you'll enjoy it.
Finally, as an added bonus, we have placed an excerpt from book #3, Journey to the Tenth Planet, at the end of this book! This is the only place you'll find a preview of book #3, so be sure not to miss it!
If you have any questions, please feel free to write and ask.
sincerely,
The Starman Team
